Do Ukraine citizens need a visa for Belgium? For tourism travel, the current rule is visa-free, with a permitted stay of up to 90 days per visit. This tourism rule was last checked against an official government source — FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation (Belgium), on 2026-09-12. It applies to Ukraine passport holders, but the exact conditions granted on the day can still differ, so keep the requirements below — and the official source in the sidebar — handy when you plan your trip.
In practice, visa-free travel means you do not have to apply for a visa before you go. You still need a passport that is valid for your stay, and border control can ask for proof of onward travel, accommodation, or funds — and can still refuse entry at their discretion.

Conditions & restrictions

- Paid work is not permitted on a short visit
- Belgium uses the European Entry/Exit System (EES) at Schengen borders; since 12 October 2025 short-stay entry and exit of third-country (non-EU) nationals is registered digitally, with the system fully operational since 10 April 2026.
- ETIAS is not yet in operation and no applications are open; when it launches, visa-exempt travellers will need an ETIAS travel authorisation, with a transitional period applying after launch.
